 Friends is an American television sitcom, created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which aired on NBC from September 22, 1994, to May 6, 2004, lasting ten seasons. With an ensemble cast starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, the show revolves around six friends in their 20s and 30s who live in Manhattan, New York City. The series was produced by Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. The original executive producers were Kevin S. Bright, Kauffman, and Crane.

Kauffman and Crane began developing Friends under the title Insomnia Cafe between November and December 1993. They presented the idea to Bright, and together they pitched a seven-page treatment of the show to NBC. After several script rewrites and changes, including title changes to Six of One and Friends Like Us, the series was finally named Friends.

Filming took place at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. All ten seasons of Friends ranked within the top ten of the final television season ratings; it ultimately reached the number-one spot in its eighth season. The series finale aired on May 6, 2004, and was watched by around 52.5 million American viewers, making it the fifth most-watched series finale in television history, and the most-watched television episode of the 2000s.

Friends received acclaim throughout its run, becoming one of the most popular television shows of all time. The series was nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards, winning the Outstanding Comedy Series award in 2002 for its eighth season. The show ranked no. 21 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time, and no. 7 on Empire magazine's The 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time.In 1997, the episode "The One with the Prom Video" was ranked no. 100 on TV Guide's 100 Greatest Episodes of All-Time. In 2013, Friends ranked no. 24 on the Writers Guild of America's 101 Best Written TV Series of All Time, and no. 28 on TV Guide's 60 Best TV Series of All Time.

This show is the best sitcom ever to be shown on tv. I didn't grow up with it but I had seen parts of it on youtube and I finally watched it. This show is so sad but at the same to so funny and beautiful and romantic. It's like the tv version of comfort food XD.

Chandler is so sweet. Everything about him is either funny or sweet, His victory dance, and his friendship with Joey, his on-off relationship with Janice, which finally turned off again. I love how he was brave enough to at least try and quit his job and smoke for his friends. He had a bad childhood but he turned around and began using jokes as a defense mechanism and tried his best to make a happy life for himself.

Monica is so caring a kind. Her OCD makes her a very endearing character. She is like the mother of the group. She really turned around her life for the better, even though she was happy before, you could tell that once she got used to being healthy she was even happier.

Rachel was a bit of a brat at first but then she really adjusted and grew. I love her fashion sense + style and how much she cared for her siblings and friends and she was always so compassionate and sympathetic. She always stood her ground and fought for what she believed was right even if she knew it would cost her something (such as her relationship with Ross).

Ross is so fun and cute. He was so brave to get way from Emily because tbh, she was kinda abusive. He was amazing with Marcel, Ben, and Emma. He tried to make Rachel feel at home in NYC and even Rachel's sister Jill when she ran away from home even though she was such a brat. He stood up for what he thought was right and defended his opinion.

Joey is perfect in every way, he was so funny and loving. I loved how he was so nice to everyone. He is determined to keep his friends safe and happy and to be successful in his career and he didn't give up when times got tough for him.

Phoebe has such a tragic past but such a bright future. I love how optimistic, funny and just overall sunshiny she was and always will be. She took what could have been a horrible life and made it into one to be jealous of. I am so happy that she found her brother, mom, and dad and had a happy ending.

It is so beautiful and the storyline and characters are so perfectly perfect.
You will laugh and cry, and I know I did. I wish this show had never ended and I'm currently working myself though my 3rd rewatch.
